Course Overview
CompTIA PenTest+ covers the full penetration testing lifecycle - not just exploitation. It is one of the few offensive certifications that gives equal weight to planning, legal and compliance considerations, and reporting, which is what separates a professional engagement from an unauthorised intrusion.
The course covers engagement scoping and rules of engagement, reconnaissance and enumeration, vulnerability discovery and analysis, exploitation across networks, hosts, wireless, applications and cloud, post-exploitation activity, and the written and verbal communication of findings.
PenTest+ maps to DoD 8140 work roles including Penetration Tester and Vulnerability Assessment Analyst.
