Cookie Policy
Effective Date: August 16, 2026 | Last Updated: August 16, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how DoD Training Center San Diego ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on www.dodtcsd.com (the "Site"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include web beacons, pixels, tags, and local storage, which we refer to collectively as "cookies" in this Policy. First-party cookies are set by us. Third-party cookies are set by our partners. Cookies may be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (which remain until they expire or are deleted).
How We Use Cookies
| Category | Purpose | Examples in use on this Site |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Enable core functionality such as security, network management, navigation, and form submission. Cannot be switched off. | WordPress session and login cookies, security and CSRF tokens, cookie-consent preference cookie, hCaptcha and Google reCAPTCHA spam protection on our forms |
| E-commerce / Cart | Remember items in your cart, checkout progress, and recently viewed products. | WooCommerce cart and session cookies, Square checkout session |
| Performance / Analytics | Collect aggregated information about how visitors use the Site so we can measure and improve performance. | Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager |
| Functional | Remember choices you make to provide enhanced, personalized features. | Language and region, saved preferences, embedded video and map preferences |
| Advertising / Targeting | Build a profile of your interests and show you relevant ads on and off the Site; measure ad performance. | None currently active. We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels on this Site at this time. If we add them, we will update this Policy and disclose them here before they run. |
We use cart and checkout cookies to remember items in your bag and complete your purchase. We do not currently operate cross-context behavioral advertising pixels. Several states treat that kind of advertising as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — if we introduce it, you will be able to opt out through our cookie preference center, and Section 5 of our Privacy Policy describes your rights.
Your Choices & How to Manage Cookies
- Cookie banner and preference center. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies through the cookie banner shown on your first visit, and change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link.
- Browser controls. Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site functions — in particular, blocking cart cookies will prevent checkout from working.
- Opt-out signals. We honor recognized opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), where required by law.
- Analytics opt-out. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Advertising opt-out. Should we introduce interest-based advertising, you can manage it through the DAA and NAI opt-out tools.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. Because there is no consistent industry standard for DNT, the Site may not respond to DNT signals; however, we honor the Global Privacy Control as described above.
Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our practices. We will revise the "Last Updated" date when we do.
